« on: July 19, 2005, 02:54:44 AM »
All members are encouraged to create new and original topics in the AYP forums. There is no limit on the number of topics that can be put here.
It has been decided to keep the forum introductory posts by Yogani locked and without replies so they can continue to serve as a simple entry point to the AYP forums for all who visit.

In order to accommodate those who would like to reply to Yogani's introductions, they have been copied in unlocked topics (like this one) that can be replied to and will "float" up and down the list with all the other topics.

Here is the introduction to this forum, and the replies to date:

It has been said that poetry is the language of divine experience and enlightenment. Somehow the divine can be more easily captured in concise verses than in long essays. The more concise the verses the more we can find between the lines. It is a paradox, really. Where there is paradox, God is always at work.

So, if you are one who writes poetry in your reverie, or if the poetry itself is your reverie, please share some with us. We will be very happy to savor it.

If someone else's writing has inspired you to greater spiritual heights, please share that also, so that we may be inspired too.

Here are two:

Keep walking, though there's no place to get to.
Don't try to see through the distances.
That's not for human beings. Move within,
But don't move the way fear makes you move.

~ Rumi

Why be vexed by the world?
It is the play of light and dark
It is being transformed
The world is you

~ Yogani

From joy I came,
For joy I live,
And in Thy sacred joy
I shall melt again.

O God, give me, I pray Thee,
light on my right hand
and light on my left hand
and light above me
and light beneath me,
O Lord, increase light within me
and give me light
and illuminate me.

And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
