is identifying with the neutral observer a transit
« on: December 08, 2014, 09:59:09 AM »

I am referring to 'neutral observer' i.e. a part of you which you can imagine is watching your thoughts, even your facial expressions, your body.

and I've some questions about this :

is it a more instantaneous transition to 'identifying myself as the neutral observer' from 'identifying myself as the mind/body/thoughts which is observed by the neutral observer' ? i.e. one day the neutral observer is not you but from then onwards it is you

or is it more likely to happen few moments at a time and increase in duration ?

and does this happen to many people who practice AYP, Kriya and other paths ?

thanks,

Hi Nodogma,

What you are referring to is called "coming into the witness". Usually it happens in glimpses at first, so we go through times where we are simply observing as the witness, and times when we are caught up in the play of the world. Gradually, the glimpses become longer and we are caught out less and less often.

Eventually it becomes a permanent state, and we then begin the transition towards unity.

And yes, it certainly does happen to many people who practice AYP and other paths. [:)]

Glad to know this and thanks much for the reply.

It has been happening more and more ... and hence I was wondering if the experiences were hallucinations or not :-)

<edit: added> p.s. I don't take mushrooms or weed or other drugs.

Lately I am aware of the moment I fall asleep, witness myself sleeping, breath coming in, breath coming out....then somewhere I loose it and sometimes the witness wakes up before me, watching breath coming in, breath coming out, the body as an empty space. Then it feels like I have a choice, do I wake up now or be a witness,
It feels peaceful and still.....
