Lovely video! I very much appreciate his translation and commentary on the Bhagavad Gita. I had never heard his voice before.

Namaste

Thanx for sharing this link, his words are always very inspiring.  [OM]

Sri Swami Sivananda is one of my cherished Param-Gurudevas.  I studied with Sri Swami Satchidananda in the early 1980s and through his teachings, became aware of his own guru's beatific effulgence.  Sivanandaji wrote more than 250 books and was both brilliant, compassionate and a spiritual colossus.  Jai Param-Gurudeva!

Om Shanti [/\]

"... do not grumble when troubles and sorrows descend upon you... welcome it. Difficulties strengthen your will, augment your power of endurance and turn your mind towards God. Face it with a smile. In your weakness lies your real strength..." said Sivananda in the video (echoing St. Paul).

Today, I trace a lineage like this:

Sivananda Saraswati
to
Satyananda Saraswati (25 December 1923 – 5 December 2009),
to
John Main
to
Laurence Freeman (who was my teacher of Buddhist Christian friendship in 2000 in Bangkok, and who I saw again for the first time a couple of weeks ago here in Baltimore)

Freeman reminds me of Sivananda as seen in this video.
