An apology to brother Yonatan
« on: August 24, 2009, 07:04:51 PM »
namaste friends,

i am lebanese and when brother Yonatan who is an Israelie first came in to the forums i used to interact with him in public until i shared the news about me interacting with an israelie friend online with someone who is very close to me and who gave me the advice to stay away from him as far as i can.

all bcz of the situation between our countries and the way the authorities over here might react in suspicion if they knew about the whole thing...

i should point out that i kept on interacting with brother Yonatan in private and explained the situation...

but the truth be said i've been blind, and i've been following a bad advice..

i want my country to have peace with Israel and i don't see it as wrong if i have a jewish Israelie friend whom i react with in public..

actually it's against peace and if our two countries don't get into negotiations instead of waging wars for the last 60 years then what's the use the cycle of suffering will continue...

my apologies brother Yonatan, i did you wrong.

kindest regards,

Ananda

Yonatan

I'm positive this is the same sort of action Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., or The Dalia Lama would take in a similar situation. If countries won't take the first steps towards peace then it is left up to the individuals. It is great to see that you both have forged this friendship.

I had the same experience with our friend Yonatan..
First, seeing a name with "Israel" under it, right above my post, once, was in itself beautiful..
At that moment, I realized the beauty and power of yoga and I wrote to Yonatan..
then, there was a little voice, a tiny little doubt that came out of fear... and I wondered if it was "safe" to interact with our beloved neighbour via emails..
So, please, Yonatan, forgive my weakness and doubts.
And thank you Ananda for bringing this subject on the forum.

Each one of us is responsible. By working on our energies, we grow Love and by simply being, this Love radiates and spread Peace all around..

Beyond emotional impulse, I simply wish that soon, there'll be no Israeli nor Lebanese anymore, but simply humanbeings, sharing their light and love to create a better world together.

Ananda, Yonatan, Christiane,

You are all an inspiration.

And as A Course In Miracles says so beautifully:

"All expressions of love are maximal."

And, by the way: A Course In Miracles was written by two psychologists who were professionally feuding/arguing ... and neither could stand the stress.

Helen Shuchman finally said to Bill Thetford:

"There's got to be a better way!!"

His response?

"There is, and we'll find it, together."

[:)]

"Us" and "them" are concepts.

We are reality.
