I decided to sit for longer than usual today - 5 minutes Spinal Breathing Pranayama, 15 minutes Deep Meditation.

Interesting to note were the orgasmic sensations that came up half-way through the DM - accompanied by rapid abdominal breathing/panting, orgasmic groans and the like - but no external erection/ejaculation.. it felt like the sexual energy was finding other forms of expression.. NICE.! lol.

Since I began to abstain from all forms of sexual activity earlier at the start of this month, I have experienced some good progress in the results of my practices (SBP,yoni mudra, DM and samyama).

Sexual sensations also seem reduced in practices. Previously I would experience these quite a bit. I have felt more ease and joy in life also, and a stronger connection to fellow beings. Things are good [:)]

Still watching porn and masturbating.. just occasionally.. and quick sessions..

I am tired of this addiction.

I have been working night-shifts as well, I am an insomniac in recent days, which set it all off... lying in bed unable to sleep for five hours can lead to the mind wandering.

I know how you feel man, Id go at it 3, sometimes even 4or 5 times every single day. I stopped watching porn but I was still addicted to masturbation, that being the orgasm. I'd say just stick to it man, I've only masturbated twice in the last 60 days (how healthy this is for an 18 year old boy, I dont know), but with practices the urge is much much less. I'd say even tantric masturbation is fairly dangerous as I used to go too far sometimes :p

Ak33: there is zero health risk for abstaining of you so choose. At least from the science I've read. The body just breaks it down and reabsorbs it. No buildup dangers.

You show considerable willpower for an 18 year old man, kudos!

Will Power - I will re-write the password, this time randomly generate it, write it down on paper, take it work and place it in my file. That means getting it would involve a 50-minute round trip on my bike, and talking to colleagues to explain *why* I am there at that hour.

This idea came to place after reading your post, so thank you very much.

This sounds like a good idea to me! I wonder how the addiction will respond to this new challenge. Could be tough.. But it may make all the difference.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but my question is very much on topic with Jack's. I am also a 26 year old male who wishes to control his ejaculation, and I thought that posting here would be preferable than opening a new thread.

I currently ejaculate 2-3 times a week. I am not concerned with porn or masturbation addiction (I watch porn and I'm proud! ;). Instead, I have noticed that ejaculating makes me quite tired, sometimes for a full day afterward; even when I don't ejaculate, I end up wasting a lot of time masturbating to porn when I could be doing something more productive.

My objective is to transmute my sexual energy into productivity toward my goals and my purpose instead of dispersing it by masturbating and ejaculating. I also wish to build stamina for bedroom fun.

A couple weeks ago I started with Zen meditation, pelvic floor exercises and spinal breathing. Do you believe it would be helpful if I only ejaculated once a week instead of 2-3 times? Would blocking ejaculation and mulabandha also be helpful? Any other tips?

Hi Ishmael,

Yes, I would advise to cut down your masturbation. This is my experience, but I feel holdback and blocking method are risky in terms of going over the edge, as sometimes you go too far. Better to not masturbate at all, the urges die down after few weeks.

Everything in moderation. As you have said you want to preserve and cultivate your sexual energy. Once a week might be right or two weeks, a month.... etc.

Blocking is the 'training wheels' when you have gone too far. It helps because it encourages vajroli. http://www.aypsite.com/plus/T30.html You might as well try it rather than ejaculating the traditional way. You might still feel the effects of blocking; i.e. fatigue etc but they may not be as pronounced. Still, doing too much of that could have a negative effect. You'll only know for yourself.

Thank you woosa and ak33. I just have a few more questions, if you'll be kind enough to answer, and then I'll stop hijacking this thread.

How will I know when I'm doing too much? Will I experience a drop in energy, or will the sexual energy become "too much" for me to recycle it, to the point where sexual thoughts start distracting me too much?

Also, should I try to gradually stretch the periods longer and longer? I last ejaculated 8 days ago and I'm feeling more confident and more focused (I believe it's thanks to spinal breathing). I don't feel an urge now, and if I do usually a few deep breaths help, but it is slowly getting a bit more challenging.

Should my aim to ejaculate as rarely as possible, within reason (e.g. without going crazy)?

Hi Ishmael

When ecstatic conductivity kicks in you will be more aware of what affects it. From there you will probably not want to put a damper on it by excessive ejaculations, as they can have quite an effect on it. So it's up to you what you do to support your practice.

It sounds like you are happy abstaining for 8 days. If you are happy to continue carry on. It's entirely up to you. As I say, when you progress with your practice you will know how best to support it.  

I wouldn't worry about *having* to masturbate - nothing will 'back up' and make anything untoward happening like your head exploding [:o)]. But if you are going crazy then you know what to do... [:D]. You'll know yourself how often is best for you.
