Above the throat chakra
« on: February 03, 2012, 11:25:43 AM »
Hi...I started using the AYP system about two weeks ago. There is alot to be said about my earlier experience with meditation and happenings around this. But for now I have more or less of headaches and have come to the conclusion that I'm fairly blocked, between the throat chakra and my third eye.

Is the only way to keep practicing and wait for further cleaning above the throat chakra?

Thanks

Shanti

Welcome to the AYP forums. [:)]

Blocked throat is one of the most common problems.

Since you have been doing this for only two weeks... I would say give it a bit more time. After you are stable a bit with practices you can try Chin pump : http://www.aypsite.com/plus/139.html and spinal bhastrika : http://www.aypsite.com/plus/171.html
But please don't add them yet, wait at least 6 months to be sure you are stable in the core practices.

The headaches, do you have them during practices or after? Also, reduce spinal breathing if the headches become too much.

Also, when I was suffering from headaches,  the one thing I had realized was how much I lived in my head... next time you realize you are thinking, see where your attention is... if it is in your head, bring your attention down into your chest area or stomach and think from there. It takes some practice but it's not hard after a while... this takes a lot of pressure off your head.

Hope some of this helps.

dear shades
Shanti has given you great advice.....
do you like singing? it is very good at clearing up and opening the throat chakra
in yoga there is kirtan chanting but in your case since you are a beginner it is better to take things very slowly to avoid overload...for now just sing ( i mean sing really loud with all your heart) your favorite music track...
all the best[:)]

I am amazed by the quality of the deep meditation, and how little of time it takes.

What made the head aches reduce was to leave spinal breathing out for now. The technical quality of SB made me think and try too much.

Maybe I'll add the first steps of SB again in time.

Head aches come even when singing but are in periods reduced to none and almost total relaxation. I wish to prolong those periods.
