Sensing the here/ now
« on: June 07, 2007, 01:41:37 PM »
Over the last couple of years my perception of the here and now has been very visual. Strange to say, but along with a quieting of the mind, when I tune in to the moment, to presence, there is a visual quality to it, like a field of oscillating light superimposed on a background of black, for lack of a better description.

Lately I have been observing my other senses becoming fascinated with the here/now. A while back it was my hearing, every noise was very apparent to me, like really hearing things for the first time. Recently touch has "spoken up" really feeling things which I ordinarily take for granted, like the steering wheel on my car or the texture of food as it hits my lips etc.

Now most recently, taste is fascinating, the richness and fullness of food is all of a sudden profoundly exhilarating.

Bottom line is it's all really enjoyable because it helps me be more present, it is becoming obvious, why would I want to be anywhere else?
