"Deep" meditation
« on: October 05, 2010, 02:07:33 AM »

Hi,

Im struggling a bit. Normally my meditation is rather flat, as i tend to stress myself through the day, and the more stress, the more flat is my meditation. But its something different when im meditating with Lifeflow (binaural beats), it seems to force a deep meditation.

Now the weird thing is, when my meditation is deep, it feels wonderful, relaxing and im letting go of everything. But afterwards im getting depressive, anxious, have bad dreams, and sometimes, if im lucky, supressed emotions come up.

So it seems like, meditation shouldnt be too (much too) deep, to have a steady practise.

So then im stopping my meditation, as its way too much for my little brain. But then im missing the relaxation, the letting go, and the normal daily stress eats me up again.

Seems like the deepness of meditation is something that the mind/body controls by itself, and through using outside means (like Lifeflow in my case), things get forced a bit.

Im sometimes writing my questions on the board, and while i write about it, im answering them myself. Most times i could just erase the post, but i have a feeling to keep this one.

Thanks :)
Pan

Hi Pan,
Do you rest after you come out of meditation?

What you are experiencing is generally caused by not resting enough after meditation. So once you are done with meditation, just rest for 5 or 10 min and then go about your day. Hopefully this will help.

Hi Shanti,

Thanks for the reminder. No i dont rest at all. Its really hard for me to sit still and do nothing - i could miss something! [:D]
(meditation, in that context, is "doing" something [:)])
