Matisyahu?

Maybe not a guru or sage, but I believe Matisyahu is divinely inspired. He's an orthodox Hasidic Jewish reggae artist, and his music is phenomenal! His music speaks to my heart, and the more I meditate, the deeper the meaning I get from his music. I love it! Here's an excerpt from his song "Warrior":

like an ancient memory
remember how it used to be
close your eyes and breathe in
the scent of freedom
ringing across the sea
land of milk and honey
one day we'll wake up from this dream
and we'll stop sleeping
then we'll see clearly

you're a warrior
fighting for your soul
taken from the heavens above
and brought down to this world below

Have any of you heard his music? I *highly* recommend his album "Live at Stubb's". His music is positive and spiritually uplifting. Maybe I'm reading into his lyrics too much, but he seems to make a lot of references to meditation.

I wish you could all hear his music and experience the same joy that I do from it [:D]

Hi Troll - I like the lyrics too.  Next time I'm at the music store I'll look up Matis-yahoo.  :)  Never heard of the guy.  Thanks!

Yeah, it's especially awesome when he beat-boxes (makes a-capella hip-hop beats). He wears the full black suit w/fedora, beard, etc. while he performs. It's refreshing the way he steps out of people's perception /image/stereotype boundaries.
