Hi everyone,
This post is to give some (hopefully) helpful info on where the tongue goes.
So first is to read Maheshwar excellent book:

I've made Bookmark which you can check right here:
http://bit.ly/2u0MPSw1.- The tongue touches the Uvula and then goes "up".
2.- The Uvula is just in the limit between the Nasopharynx and the Oropharynx.
3.- The tongue goes up through the Nasopharynx and the reaches the "Nasal Mucosa".
* I couldn't find the tendon, but it's probably in the intersection between Nasal Mucosa and the Nasopharynx.
4.- Next it touches the "Vomer", which ends up just below the Sella Turcica which holds the Pituitary Gland.
* I'm yet to figure out where does the Nasal Septum fit in ...
In case you want to interact more with the 3D diagram a few tips:
- You will need a decent 3D Card
- I selected, Pituitary Gland, Vomer, Nasal Septum, Nasal Mucosa, Nasopharynx, Oropharynx, Uvula and Tongue
- It is an "X-Ray" View.
- You can navigate more easily by applying a "Right Cross Section"
- To select multiple organs, you need to:
* Search the organ in the left menu (once you make an account)
* Click in the 3D screen.
* Press Shift and the click on the name of the organ.
* Search for another organ.
* Click the 3D screen.
* Shift + Click to select.
And repeat this procedure to select more organs.
It would be great if someone could make a "tour" on this BioDigital thing.
If you see any previous post from me trying to understand the anatomy, discard them as they are misleading

Just to correct this statement:
4.- Next it touches the "Vomer", which ends up just below the Sella Turcica which holds the Pituitary Gland.
There is big sphenoid sinus in between, air filled cavity, lined with mucus. Quite big to physically influence Pituitary Gland.
Rolling eyes up in Sambhavi, optic nerves that cross over just above Pituitary Gland, possibly stimulate gland more directly.
This is what I found in roaming through cadavers.
