Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Corporation has launched a comic book line that will retell the stories of Ramayanam, Mahabharatam, and other stories: The Sadhu, Devi, Snake Women.

Branson has brought together a good crew including Deepak Chopra, John Woo, Gotham Chopra, and other superb artists.

This is an interesting development because Indian cultural mythology is not popular in America and these comic book lines are one of the first types of media to introduce American culture to ancient teachings, especially to the younger generation since these stories and teachings are being introduced by way of comic books.

It has been written in the newspaper IndiaWest that this Virgin comics company may be a great way for Indian culture, and individuals in America, to "test the waters" as far as introducing more Indian culture through movies and other media to America.

It sounds like the main purpose of these comics is to teach spiritual principles/values but also to have the best artistic work as well.
