Meditation and smoking cessation
« on: January 04, 2013, 07:39:00 AM »
Hi,

I just wanted to share something interesting.

I quit smoking cigarettes a month ago.

I sat down to meditate for ten minutes earlier this evening, allowing myself ten minutes rest afterwards. While resting, my body felt like it was being guided to do some quite fast, deep breathing into the chest and abdomen. When I arose from the rest, I "cleared"  quite a significant amount of old crap from my lungs!

It is like the body's intelligence was tapped during the meditation session and naturally released a load of the old gunk spontaniously - I was not guiding the breathing consciously, the body just started breathing itself.

Not the most thrilling stuff, but hey!

I have also found quitting cigarettes really quite easy. I attribute some of this to the effect DM is having on me!
