Lesson 28 - Will I become a
Milquetoast from Meditation?
(Audio)
Dec 3, 2003
Q: My
employees tell me I am less crabby. I'm not sure this is a good thing. Will I
become a milquetoast from meditation?
A: It's not likely. You will become much stronger from
meditation, which means becoming who you are at the most fundamental level. At
the same time, you will engage in tense and harmful behavior less and less. You
will be less crabby and be more calmly resolute about the things that matter to
you. People have noticed something already. This is a good thing. You will be in
a much better position to motivate your employees because you will act more from
a level of inner strength, instead of from a level of anger and tension.
Of course, there is the belief that tension is necessary to motivate people,
especially in business. "Fear is the greatest motivator," they say. Fear is a
motivator. But it is only useful if it spurs people to attain a greater
realization of inner truth, which includes growing beyond the reach of fear. If
fear does not motivate us to find the truth, then it is just a grind, an endless
wheel of misery. Nobody really wants to be on that wheel, not even those who are
turning it, rolling it over others. Until now, there may not have seemed to be
any other alternative. But there is, and things can change. Go within daily with
meditation and you will get off the wheel, and help others to get off it as
well. You will find that business, and all of life, is much more fulfilling as
crabbiness fades. Crabbiness fades as pure bliss consciousness rises. There are
no limits to what you can accomplish then.
The guru is in you.
