Lesson
234 - Inner Wisdom Shining Through
(Audio)
Sep 11, 2004
Q:
It's a month now since I have followed meticulously the meditation technique
using mantra. Earlier it was difficult to sit at one place for 20-25 minutes and
now, I would like to remain in the meditation posture with my mantra as long as
possible, If I continue for more than 30 minutes, my mood becomes very dull
later. Hence I restrict the meditation only to 20-25 minutes and feel relaxed
and fresh some time. However, I am not getting any telltale marks in doing
meditation. Kindly tell me, am I not cheating myself that I am meditating?
A: Thank you for writing and sharing. Your meditation practice sounds very
good. You have found the importance of regulating the time so as not to overdo.
This gives you the maximum rate of inner purification with minimum discomfort.
That is perfect. Your feelings of peace and relaxation are just right. As you
continue with practice, it will expand and progress over time, gradually
illuminating your daily activity.
As you move through the lessons, you will learn additional practices that will
begin to enliven the ecstatic side of the enlightenment equation. Spinal
breathing is next, and, step by step, many other means. The formula is for a
blending of inner silence and ecstasy. Meditation is for cultivating inner
silence. Many of the other practices are for cultivating ecstatic conductivity
in the nervous system.
It is normal to have a few doubts now and then. It is some dust kicking up in
the purification process. You can be sure you are on the right track. Just keep
going at your own pace. Your inner wisdom is clear and shining through.
The guru is in you.
