Hi All:
A key reason for keeping your email address up to date in your profile is so you can receive moderator notices if and when any posts of yours are put on hold or rejected. Explanations and suggestions for how to fix an on-hold or rejected post are usually sent.
If you prefer not to be contacted by other forum members through the forum email service, that can be turned off in your profile (moderator notes will still come). Your email address is never revealed to others, unless you reply to an email received through the forum email service.
Broadcast emails are never sent through the forum email service. If you ever receive spam or any annoying email through the forum email service, do let me know and it will be addressed. We are very happy to be a spam-free community, and will do what is necessary to keep it that way.
