Title: Kapalbhati
Post by: AYPforum on March 31, 2008, 06:33:12 AM
What is Kapalbhati?
Kapalbhati, a shatkarma (http://www.aypsite.com/plus-forum/index.php?topic=3520) technique, means shining forehead or luminous face. It is a pranayama (breathing) technique, which involves taking a series of relaxed normal inhalations followed by sudden bellows-like exhalations. A primary effect of kapalbhati is to increase air pressure in short bursts in the nasal pharynx and sinuses, which stimulates the forward part of the brain. This provides a brain cleansing.
